Privacy

Short version: your name stays on your device.

Names are processed in your browser

Namae has no application backend. The name you type is scored entirely on your device by JavaScript running in your browser — it is never sent to a server, never logged, and never stored by us.

Local storage

We keep a small amount of data in your browser's localStorage so the site behaves the way you expect:

This data never leaves your browser and you can clear it any time via your browser settings.

Advertising

Namae may display ads (e.g., Google AdSense) to keep the tool free. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, governed by their own policies (for Google, see Google's advertising policies). We do not share any name you enter with advertisers — names are not transmitted off your device.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see aggregate, anonymous usage — how many people visit, which pages are popular, and what device types are used. Analytics is off by default: on your first visit a banner asks for your consent, and Google Analytics only loads cookies or identifiers if you choose Accept. This uses Google Consent Mode, which defaults every storage type to denied until you opt in. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

When you open a name page (for example /n/Sofia), that name is part of the page address, so it is included in the analytics page-view like any URL. We never send the name you type as separate personal data, and all scoring still happens on your device. You can withdraw consent any time by clearing your browser's localStorage. See Google's privacy policy.

Other third parties

Fonts and the world map library are loaded from public CDNs (Google Fonts, jsDelivr); your browser contacts those services to fetch those assets.
